The Citizens Party has consistently called for greater investment into the public health-care system, to ensure adequate funding, staffing and facilities for public hospitals, aged care, mental health, dental care, and research so that all Australians can receive free, timely and high-quality healthcare. A minimum standard of 5 hospital beds per thousand population must be achieved and maintained. We will increase the numbers of trained clinical staff, and cut the layers of bureaucratic management and the managerial record-keeping burden on staff so they can concentrate on care.
